The Insta360 App Experience Update: New Interface, Faster Exports & More

Known for regular updates to their cameras and software, Insta360 announced today a special update for the Insta360 mobile app. Designed to enhance the user experience, the changes include a new user interface (UI), vastly improved export speeds and loading times, as well as a host of other improvements and new features. Mobile editing with Insta360 has never been easier!

The updated mobile app is available now for both iOS and Android, for use with Insta360 GO 2, Insta360 ONE X2, Insta360 ONE R and Insta360 ONE X.

Fresh New UI for Shooting & Exporting

One of the Insta360 app’s major functions is to serve as a shooting tool, allowing users to control their cameras remotely, preview shots in real time, adjust settings and shoot.

The shooting interface now has a fresh, new design that provides a cleaner and more logical workflow. Users can swipe left and right at the bottom of the screen to select the most common shooting modes, while swiping up opens the full list of options.

When the editing is finished and it’s time to share their work, users will be greeted with a new UI on the export page. Settings can be customized before starting the export, with all options displayed in a new layout. All in all, the result is a smoother export process.

Faster Exporting & Video Loading Times

Everyone loves a time saver. When exporting videos app users can now enjoy export rates up to 100% faster than before. These improvements have been made to both iOS and Android, so everybody wins!

Meanwhile, video loading times in the app’s album have been greatly optimized, opening between 300-500% faster than before. Video thumbnails in the album will also load up to 500% faster.

Users of the mobile app should notice a significant improvement to their editing experience as a result of these changes. And with Insta360’s continuous innovation there are always more updates in the pipeline!

Editing Optimizations

Precise trimming of clips is now much easier, with the ability to zoom in on the timeline with a long press. Then, just release the slider to go back to the full timeline.

Navigation between albums and files is smoother, with an easy swipe taking users from an open video to its corresponding album, with an animation to highlight the video that was just played.

Another much requested update is the ability to include multiple music tracks in the same clip, when editing in Stories. You asked, Insta360 answered!

The AI-powered editing tool, FlashCut, has also been updated with 7 new templates, featuring animated text and graphics! Users simply select their footage and the app will edit the best parts of their clips together on beat to the music.

Last but not least, AquaVision 2.0, an underwater color correction algorithm, is now available for ONE X users.

This update continues to boost the user-friendliness of the Insta360 mobile app, making shooting and editing camera footage easier. Make sure to download the latest version of the app and enjoy the new experience!
