SMO 360: An Ultralight 360° Camera for the Pavo360 Drone

3 min read

SMO 360 is an ultralight 360 action cam, specially designed for the BETAFPV Pavo360 drone.

Weighing only 55g, SMO 360 is a stripped-back camera that includes just two fisheye lenses and a processor core, powered directly by the drone. It’s super easy to install onto the 3” cinewhoop Pavo360 drone—just mount it, plug it in and enjoy stunning 5.7K 360-degree videos. Thanks to the camera’s dual-lens design and the drone’s thin frame, the drone appears completely invisible in videos, resulting in more immersive footage.

SMO 360

SMO 360 is developed by FPV drone company BETAFPV using Insta360 technology. The camera is backed up with Insta360’s FlowState stabilization, allowing FPV pilots to get ultra-smooth video via Insta360’s mobile app and desktop software.

5.7K 360° video capture and invisible drone effect

SMO 360 has a dual-lens design to capture stunning 5.7K 360° videos during the flight. The distance between the two lenses of SMO 360 was increased in order to accommodate more powerful drone motors and make the drone completely invisible throughout the entire flight. SMO 360 is an out-of-the-box solution for FPV pilots who want to explore the immersiveness and creativity of 360-degree FPV drone footage, without any re-engineering needed.

FlowState Stabilization for FPV drones

SMO 360 is backed up with Insta360’s FlowState stabilization, which ensures the video is stable throughout the flight, no matter what maneuvers you attempt. This makes SMO 360 the perfect camera for capturing 360 videos while flying an FPV drone.

Plug-in and ready to use

SMO 360 comes with a 6V to 27V power connector. All you need to do is just plug it into Pavo360 and it will be powered by the drone.

My betafpv pavo 360 footage is so shaky I can’t use it.
The camera will not calibrate in the app either
